Rokštejn Castle Archaeological Summer School

The programme is focused on archaeological excavation of a medieval ruin of Rokštejn Castle (13th – 15th century) in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Students will have the opportunity to get their hands on all of the aspects of the excavation process – from digging to documenting (drawing, photo documentation, total station, etc), from sieving and sampling to analysing the material excavated (interpretation, flotation, cataloguing and so on). Along with the excavation, the students will also learn the complexity of archaeological excavation of a medieval castle. Accommodation for the students is available at the Centre in Panská Lhota.
