Dormitories FAQ
What to do to extend/shorten the dormitory accommodation contract?
Will I get the deposit back?
-
Yes, the booking deposit will be released within 14 days after you check out. It usually happens only on Wednesdays of each week. So if you are checking out on Wednesday they may release it on Wednesday. If you are checking out on any other day than Wednesday, the deposit will be released only on the upcoming Wednesday. See further details about the transfer to your home bank account below. The deposit will not be used to cover your last month of accommodation. So you need to pay for your last month of accommodation as usual.
Where can I find more details about the deposit?
- Login into MU SUPO to check your deposit status and its amount.
I still have some money on my Webkredit/ SUPO. How can I get it back?
- If you have some money on the canteen account (WebKredit), you should first transfer the money to your SUPO account in order to get back all the money. Then, you can have the money sent to your account by following these steps. These steps can only be done after your study record has been closed (your coordinator will notify you when that happens, probably mid-July).
- use this application to enter your bank account number into our system
- use this application to ask for the refund
- The money transfer will take about a week and your bank may charge some fees for an incoming international transfer.

- TERMINATE the contract earlier, but you have to do it in advance
To terminate the contract earlier/ shorten your stay, you need to contact your accommodation assistant who you can find in the document Important SKM MU contact (see the section Documents). Pre-departure steps
You should follow the instructions of the accommodation department, however, exchange students will be informed about the pre-departure steps in detail by e-mail, when the end of the semester is approaching.
Withdraw your money from the SUPO account
If there is an overpayment on your SUPO account before your departure, ask for the refund at https://inet.muni.cz/app/supo/vraceni (the money will be then return to your Czech bank account). If you do not have a Czech bank account, you need to wait until your study record in the IS is terminated. Then, you need to send a request here, attaching this document. Be prepared for the banks to charge some fees and that it may take some time for the money to arrive.
