It has been confirmed by the UK Government that EU students applying to study in the academic year 2018/19 will have their student loans, fees, and grants guaranteed for the entirety of their course, even if the course end date is after the point of the UK’s exit from the EU.

This applies to all EU students applying for an undergraduate or master’s course at a UK university in 2018 to 2019. EU nationals also remain eligible to apply for Research Council PhD studentships at UK institutions to help cover costs for the duration of their study.

EU students will, in the academic year 2018/2019, also be eligible for the same tuition fees as UK students for the duration of their course, even if it concludes after Brexit. Scottish university home fee status and loans for EU students are guaranteed for 2018/19 entry as well.
