Intergovernmental agreements
The Czech Republic has signed intergovernmental agreements with many countries round the world. Often these include provisions for scholarships to enable students from the countries concerned to study in the Czech Republic. Usually these relate to full-time studies in degree programmes, but in some cases they also include short-term stays for study or research of a month or one or two semesters. Altogether around 200 international students a year come to the Czech Republic through short-term grants of this kind.
If you are interested in exploring the possibility of obtaining such a scholarship, it’s best to enquire at the International Relations Office of your university or go to the web pages of your Ministry of Education or Foreign Affairs. There you should be able to find information on whether such an agreement has been signed between your country and the Czech Republic, and if so, how to apply for funding to study here.
