ERASMUS+ for incoming international (non-EU) STAFF


The call for applications for academic year 2017/2018 is now open!

Erasmus+ programme enables international academic and administrative staff mainly between the EU countries, providing generous financial support. From 2015 onwards, Masaryk University also offers wide range of mobility options under Erasmus+ programme available for prospective candidates from non-EU regions, particularly Western Balkan, South-Mediterranean countries, Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Erasmus+ programme is open both for teaching or training mobility (depending on the specific agreement).

Available scholarships (academic year 2017/2018)

The application for incoming staff under the Erasmus+ programme to Masaryk University is open for the forthcoming academic year 2017/2018.

  • The scholarship is set to 140 EUR / day.
  • Deadline for applications is February 12th, 2017.
  • The programme covers your travel costs (flight ticket, bus) partially or in whole amount.
  • Mobilities are offered for 5 days or 12 days + 2 days for travel – see the details in the online application.

Application process

While applying for the Erasmus+ (World) scholarship, please make sure you go through all the steps below:

  • Choose “Erasmus+ (outside Europe)”.
  • Select your “Level of study/cooperation”.
  • Select your “Country”.
  • Find your home institution in the field “Partner institution”.
  • Select the correct “Agreement”.
  • Click on “Create new application” button.
  • Fill in all the required data and upload all the necessary documents (no hard copies are required, electronic version only).
  • Submit the online application.

You will be informed about the results via official e-mail once evaluation process is over, check it regularly.

 Application Requirements

For successful submission of the online application you will need to prepare following documents in English language:

  • Motivation letter
  • Structured CV
  • Confirmation of English language skills
  • Photo (passport size)
  • A copy of the photo page of the passport
  • Detailed intended work plan
  • Letter of Pre-acceptance

Letter of Pre-acceptance

In order to receive a Letter of Pre-acceptance, please establish a contact with a relevant person or department at Masaryk University well in advance and ask the consent of supervision. The process may take several days at minimum and you will be required to provide your CV and Work Plan proposal for receiving the document. If you are not sure whom to contact, let us know. We will try to assist and connect you with a department of your academic interest.

Evaluation process and criteria

Once your application is successfully submitted and deadline of call for applications is over the evaluation phase starts. It usually takes a few weeks so please be patient. Here is the process and evaluation criteria explained.

First, a formal eligibility check is done at Masaryk University. Applications which does not fulfil formal requirements (e.g. are missing some documents or are not submitted properly) may be excluded from the assessment. Evaluation is afterwards done both at host and home institution separately. Each of the criterion has assigned a specific point value. According to the points earned, the best applicants are granted by the scholarship. To be the best applicant, see the criteria below:

Motivation max. 30 points
Professional performance max. 25 points
Curriculum compatibility max. 20 points
Language skills max. 20 points
Previous experience & activities max. 5 points

Note that additional criteria may be taken into consideration during the evaluation phase, especially when deciding between equally ranked applicants. These are:

  • Equal gender distribution of scholarships
  • Disadvantaged groups or impaired persons

Once the assessment is done, you will be informed about your acceptance via official e-mail decision.
